DESCRIPTION

The Zoom iQ5 in black is a small mid-side stereo condenser mic for iOS devices with lightning connectors. It records high-quality 44.1kHz/16-bit audio that's compatible with mono playback. This mic works well to capture live shows, for news gathering, to make videos, and more.

You can turn the iQ5's capsule, so it works upright or sideways with your iOS gadget. This means you can shoot video with your device in normal or landscape mode, and the mic will still record the audio with the right left-right stereo setup.

The capsule has two parts: a "mid" mic that picks up sound from the front, and a "side" mic that catches background noise from the sides. You can set the stereo width to 90° or 120°. Or, you can record the raw signals from both mics and use Zoom's Handy Recorder iOS app to change the stereo width later. This app also lets you turn the signal into a clear mono sound, which works great for voice recordings like interviews.
