DESCRIPTION

The Zoom iQ7 is a small mid-side stereo condenser mic that works with iOS devices that have Lightning ports. It can record mono-compatible audio at up to 48 kHz/16-bit quality. This makes it great to use for capturing live shows, news gathering, videos, and other purposes.

You can turn the iQ7's capsule, so it fits or on your iOS gadget. This means you can shoot video with your device in normal or landscape mode while making sure the audio keeps the right left-right stereo setup.

The microphone features two components: a directional "mid" mic that picks up sound from the front, and a bidirectional "side" mic that captures ambient noises from the sides. You can set the stereo width to either 90° or 120°. Another option is to record the mid and side mic signals as raw data. This lets you use Zoom's Handy Recorder iOS app to adjust the stereo width later.
